Hi all,
since some months now I am thinking of going back to analogue photography and shoot film and slides. What stops me is the hassle of scanning my films and slides. I do not have the time to do so.
I couldn’t find a good and reliable service to scan negatives/films up to now. I tried the filmscanner.info, but the results were not good, to say the least.
scancafe.com suppose to deliver good results but they accept orders only from the US and Canada.
Do you know a reasonable priced scanning service?
Preferable in Europe...
Thank you.

Thank you for the info.
I was just about to send my negatives to filmscanner.info. What did they do?
Sadly I can´t recommend an other service. So I now have the same question and eagerly await the answers.
Thank you all

The prices of pixelservices (e.g. EUR 0,35 for a 3000 dpi TIFF) sound reasonable to me. Although they are located in Dortmund a just stone's throw away from my office I have no experience with their service or quality. As I will start developing B/W soon, I wiil give them a try.

P.S. They have a testing offers: If you send 3 negs or slides to them they will send 2000, 3000 and 4000 dpi TIFF and JPG scans back to you. Just EUR 1,45 for post and packaging.

I am sending my stuff to http://digitalcopy24.de/ (35mmm, 6x6 and 4x5) and for the price the results are good (some film flatness problems with 6x6 sometimes). The guy (Herr Choroba) working there is kind and helpful. He uses Coolscans 5000/9000 and Imacon X5 for larger (or high resolution smaller) formats.
But truth to be said - I have just bough a refurbished Microtek F1 and trying to see whether I could do the "low-end" scans (smaller prints and web) myself. I will be now sending for scanning only negatives where I plan large prints (8x or so).
BTW, all my printing (ink on Epsons) goes to http://www.digitaloriginal.de/ and I am perfectly satisfied - they offer wide selection of papers (Hahnemuehle also) and are also very kind and helpful.
