a question of G35 lens

I am new to Contax G system and just bought a G35 lens and cannot try it on body which is still on the way. I found that the aperture ring stop at the position between 5.6 and 8 and contact seller, I was told the aperture ring will be ok when it mounted on body. Is this statement right?

Yes, when it is mounted on the body or an adapter correctly, the number will be aligned right. Make sure you mount it correctly though.
