A really refreshing street photography

I have stumbled on a link to this photographer on photo.net. He says he uses what most people here would regard as cornerstone RF equipment - a Leica MP with a 35mm Summilux lens. This work is really enjoyable, modern, yet in the best tradition of the street photography. I have particularly liked the black and white series. I hope he is a member here, so he could tell us how to better train our eyes to get shots like his...

Having haunted many of these same locales, I agree -- this is fine work. Reminds me a lot of Elliott Erwitt.

I really like all his work, but I think his color work is better. The way he makes color work is not easy in street. Face it, this guy's a genious.

Matt's a contributer there along with some other cracking street photographers. I've always cursed my luck that I've never come across a devil hanging around mischievously close to a clamped car or have stumbled across the brilliant find of a blue skip infront of a peacocks head.

I've seen his work before, in one of the photography magazines.
I really liked it there, but having seen his website I think that the selections put in the magazine were not the better works.
Really nice stuff.

Thanks for the link - brilliant work there! i dont know if the fact that he uses Leica matters - I think he could use anything and still have great photos! Its how he sees things, not what he uses, I think.

Lot's of hilarious shots - the guy obviosuly has lots of humor and is at the right place at the right time - and has his camera ready - 11 years of street shooting and several roll a day should give you some experience. But to catch some of the shots he got you also have to be lucky - as he mentioned only the ones under "comissioned" are staged...
So let's get out there and shoot, shoot, shoot. What am I doing here wasting my time at work ?! 😱 😉
