A recent M9 scare!

..... the M9 is a fantastic camera, just use OEM batteries and you will be fine!

The M-P 240 is also a fantastic camera, if you ever need/desire to upgrade if the sensor becomes and issue.

Look forward to more of you images.

Happy trails!

My wife suggested to me today to "fix the M9 and sell it."
I told her that there is no camera of its equal.

Agree with you. Although I got an M8.u during the time my M9 was being re-sensored and am keeping it. Too good to let it go!

I just got this shot (M8 + Summicron 50/2 collapsible) in JPG SOOTC:

I will get some new Leica batteries for the M9, and then (hopefully) I will get years of enjoyment out of this camera. The M8 seems to be rock solid.

Thank you Andy. Having lived in the USA for over 34 years, I am still catching up with the acronyms used here.

I can hear the church bells sounding off here at 8am. The other sound is from the harbor. (water, birds, boats, ....).
We will drive to Padova/Padua today. It is a city that is close to Venice. Many years ago, the first botanical gardens in Europe were established in Padova. There is a train and bus ride to Venice from there. This way there is less hassle reaching Venice.

Raid,

Thanks for sharing your experience using a non-Leica battery on your M-9.

I've only been using the Leica battery on my M-9, but when I bought it used, the seller included some non-Leica batteries. I haven't used those yet, as I just keep recharging the Leica battery, but now I'm wondering if the same thing will happen on my camera.

Enjoy the Cinque Terre. I was there a while ago and very much liked it.
It's so different compared to other places in Europe. Most importantly, have fun on the rest of your trip.

Ellen

Thank you, Ellen. I am now convinced not to use off-brand batteries in the M9. I have not seen reports with such problems in the M8.

I beat you to it!

I took this photo a few minutes ago from our room window. We are on the second floor, Robert.
We parked in front of the hotel for EURO 15/night.
