Glad to hear you're OK Stephen and avoided an untimely end! Also that your doctor called it right first time - from experience, that's not always the case. Life is precious and too short as it is. I hope you feel back to normal soon, and this gives you more impetus to do worthwhile things. Every day is a gift!
kind regards,

THank you for sharing Stephen. We are really fragile on so many levels in our lives and it is always good to stop and take stock in how fortunate we are to have our health (which is for sure relative
Glad you made it through what sounds like quite an ordeal!

Most folks ignore problems!
Masking pain with pain killers, or drugs made to mask,
of one sort or another.
Zantac is a prime example of "masking". (Stomach ulcers.)
I had a heart excitement, once stabilized, a week,3 stents.
A major wake up call.
A new vision of what is really important and what is frivolous.
Time to see, hear and feel all the wonders, of "A wonderful world".
Wishing you a good recovery, no carrying large bags!
All the very best.

Glad you're still with us, Stephen.
I got a little reminder as well over the weekend, my dad was admitted to the hospital on Friday after he had had a dizzy spell with chest contractions (not painful but certainly noticable).
Doctors provided him with a coronery stent on Saturday and we got him home on Sunday.
He's got to rest for a few days, but he looks little worse for wear after the ordeal.

Stephen, very glad to hear that your story has a happy ending and you are still with us!
Best wishes to you in your new endeavor to change your life. I was in a similar situation 15 years ago and have managed to change my life quite dramatically since then.

Stephan, I'm sincerely happy to hear of your happy outcome. Appreciating life is sometimes lost in the crush of daily life. Cheers!

Crikey Stephen!
That is life at 1/1000th. I wish you all the best and recommend that any undeveloped rolls get souped. I am sure your new eyes will find even more meaning in them.
Thanks for the reminder of the value of life.

glad you are well!
I once fell thru a hole in a bridge while a train was running below me as a late teenager. I landed on a girder 1m below the hole and only had a bleeding wound at my shin from said life saving girder.
What I learned back then? Watch your step when walking over closed bridges!

I'll add my name to all the well-wishers Stephen. Sometimes us men are our own worst enemies when it comes to our health..... "I'll go and see the doctor when I'm feeling better".

Congratulations on catching things in time.
A couple of weeks ago a good friend died, in his 50's. Though some would say he died young, he was born with a congenital heart problem, and was in and out of hospitals his whole life. He told me once that according to his docs, he had already outlived 90% of the people born with his condition, so he figured every day was a gift, and he was determined to make each one the best day he could.

It's great that you can talk about what the near-death experience has done for your outlook in a positive way. I had a close brush with what could have been someone else's death in a fire a while ago. I felt all my own worries drop away in a moment, and felt that living and enjoying life was such a simple pleasure.

Thank you for sharing.
I'd like to joint the RFF community in letting out a huge sigh of relief.
I hope everyone who reads about your experience will realize when you body sends you signals, seeking medical help could very well save your life. And, it is so easy to take the precious gift of life for granted.
Having read RFF daily for more than nine years, this thread is another example of how the RFF community isn't just about cameras, lenses and photography.
