I`v been wondering about a new parka for a while, do have a Schott N38 something for really cold weather. Been using it in -25c while taking photos of the northern light, no problem with the cold, great pockets for gear, but after a walkabout february this year with my M6 and a Elmar the weak side of the jacket appeared. Nylon is slippy, and a M6 in the pavement is expensive, even though my insurance covered it. . .

Did some goolgle and the Aplha Officer N-3B looks tempting, and it is made of canvas ..

How is the pockets on this one ?

Looks like a M3ds with a leicameter and a rigid 50 fits one of the pocket, or is it too much to ask about ?

Other recommendations ?

Thanks.

I sew buttons on the shoulders to keep the strap from slipping. Sew them a couple of inches below the neck.

get a domke gripper strap....

Joe is always right.

My wife swiped one of my Domke grippers for her purse, no more falling purse even in her slippery nylon coat.

I wear wool.

But this brings up a really good subject ... coats/jackets that have lots of good pockets, that wear, that don't feel like cold synthetic straight jackets.

I saw a canvas coat today that I really liked. Unfortunately it was purchased ... by the wearer's wife... he doesn't frequent that mart, but damn, $9US on clearance after winter???

Anyone got good leads on canvas or waxed canvas at less than stratospheric prices?

Quite sure i´m going to order the alpha jacket soon, found a store on E**y that is shipping to Norway . . looks like the pockets fits some gear.
