A2 printing questions

It seems that a good A2 print on an epson inkjet should be at a certain resolution. As we all know the Epson R-d1s is 3000x2000, when a A2 print size requirement should be around 6000x4000 at 300 dpi (should it be 300 dpi?). When using the photoelier we see that there are artifacts when interloping (should we?). It also seems that the lens is with which the photo is taken is also very important (is it?). Could we try to create a great profile so we could take photos and print. What is also the sRGB and does it matter?
Let's say sRGB or RGB color profile.
Should we interpolate for best result?
If yes which size will relate the most to the R-d1s captor in order to achieve the best quality print.

6MP are theoretically insufficient for A2 printing. Still it is worthy to note that people won't stick their face when looking at you a2 print, practically the bigger the print the farther they will be to look at it.

As such, I have successfully printed by first using epson photoraw (photolier) extrapolation to generate a 13.5 MP file. In photoshop I reized the file to A2 at the native Epson resolution of 360dpi to avoid driver interpolation.

The end result is ok from normal viewing distance and behind a frame, much better than I expected. Artifacts arise if you do extreme sharpening - so try different levels. In most cases I don't sharpen in photoshop cs4 except during the resize where I choose "best for enlargement"

I use Epson srgb as i like its rendering.

We need to understand the structure of the grain created by the captor and try to use it to interpolate the right way; when using certain filter and sharpening we can of course gain a bit. I think it is more a question of understanding if we should try to print at 280, 300, 340 dpi. I use the alien skin filters collection that really provide a perfect film stock simulation solution. If I use the Fuji Reala, I almost get something close to the 24x36 film format even printing, but I know that something about the captor needs to be understood. I am sure that its size, its colors can provide better result in printing. Uprez is great if we understand what truly works with the R-d1s captor for each format. Systematically printing at 300 dpi is fine but there is a better way to do it.

I only work with RAW files in Lightroom. For large prints I export images as TIFF with embedded ProPhoto ICC profile and resize them to 200% in Photozoom Pro with a self adjusted profile. Sometimes I also apply a film effect in Alien Skin Exposure. After that the file is reimported in Lightroom, sharpened if necessary and printed without any resolution setting in the print module. That gives pretty good results, even on A2.
