Looking to pick up an a7ii to use my 35 Summicron v3 with, can't find much info and examples with this combination. Does this combination suffer with smearing on the corners at all apertures as well?

Leica M lenses on the A7 lose quality at the edges. They are good only telephoto lenses from 75 up. I have tried the Summicron 35 v4 and this also has the usual problems. If you are photographing people in short yields can be good, but if you photographers landscapes results are poor. Stopping down the results improve. I believe that 35 v3 is the same thing.

My v4 doesn't cover the corners well at wide apertures, but a friend uses v3 at middle and smaller apertures with no problems.

The shortest M lens that covers properly at wider apertures is the 40mm Summicron.

Or you can use the larger R lenses.

Not all apertures. There may be some corner resolution loss at wider apertures.

For specific M lens use, the thin filter stack conversion from Kolari Vision is recommended. Results are comparable to the M9 post-conversion, although it can only be performed on the original A7/A7r/A7s and not the A7ii.

This is an example of Cron V4 at f8 set to infinity on A7II
The falloff is there but no color smearing as far as I can tell.

i really liked the shots i got from my 35mm sum micron v4 on an A7R (when i didn't get camera shake). The images were pretty nice...

Any real-world difference in the digital sensor rendering a 6 element lens (v3) or the 7 element (v4)?

There are many v4 and newer 35 Summicron examples but not much with the v3. I'm hoping for someone with the v3 to chime in with their a7/a7ii experience.
