hi peeps , my mamiya 6 (1955 version) has damage to coating on rear element , they just don't make them like they used to ! hard to find anyone in new zealand who can fix it , any ideas anybody ? think i saw arax (?) mentioned ? would i have to sell organs to pay for it ? the other problem with it is the flash will not sync , think its because its so old that the sync only works on M , no X setting , and i don't have an old flash unit ( would i need powder ??????ha ) once again , anybody have any ideas ?

also , saw a cheap yashica lynx 1000 but one of the barrel dials (aperture ?) was not sitting properly in place , was on a slight angle , no obvious reason . anybody pulled one before ? looked like perhaps i could pull it apart and get it to sit properly then re-assemble but im not sure ? would be nice to have a leaf shutter that can do a 1000th . and aside from that it is mint , clean and clear with good speeds . no idea if they are considered worth owning ?

and theres more but it can wait.....

anyone else here got a G 690 bl ?

Arax has a very good reputation here. I emailed a query once about polishing a lens element; the quote was very reasonable (about $30US from memory) but I never got around to sending them the lens. I think I'll put that back on my list of things I must do soon. Arax would want you to send just the lens element, so you would need to disassemble yourself, or find someone you trust to do it for you.

On the Yashica, hopefully member Greyhoundman willsee this and respond. In the meantime, check out the Yaashica Man website http://www.yashica-guy.com/index.html and http://feuerbacher.net/photo/frame.html?Cameras/Lynx14E/YashicaLynx14E.html~Main . This last one is about the Lynx 1.4 but I guess the shutter is similar, so it should give you some idea.
