Accepted the inevitable

I have one and I use it on both the 0.72 and the 0.85, and I like it a lot. I got it to help with focusing the 90/2 AA which is murder wide-open. If you are thinking of using something like that I highly recommend it.

I think I'll see whether I get focusing errors before getting the magnifier. I like the space around the 50mm frameline, and it's a big part of the appeal of rangefinders for me. Your .85 with the magnifier must be pretty great though, being able to shoot with both eyes open.

Shenkerian you have acquired a most impressive compromize combination, and I appreciate your forthright rationale as well! Hope to see some of your shots eventually appear here in RFF...

Thank you Doug. I hope to post some shots in the new year when I finally buy a scanner. That gives me a couple months of much-needed practice with this camera.

Magus, several of your posts about both the camera and the lens were among those that drove me to this purchase, so thank you also. I do enjoy "breaking in" this camera, especially since I really don't intend to sell it. I think that was one of my fears about an intermediary M6 -- having to worry about its resale value. With the MP, I've got to worry only that it'll keep working.

Also, you meant to make the joke about music, didn't you?

Yes indeed. The only downside is that now I have no excuses... 😉
