accidentally turned the F ring while exposing

Does anything bad happen? From 16 to 4. I was testing the camera right after buying it. The guy at the counter gave it to me on ISO100 and F16, I didn't look and I shot a long exposure. I didn't know why it does not take the picture and I moved the aperture (while the camera was taking the picture).

Note: It's my first digital camera, only shot film before. And yes, I am a retard.

Should be fine - the aperture is electronically controlled (it's kept open when in live view, stopped down for the picture) so you can't screw it up while it's taking a photo. That being said, if the aperture was manually controlled, it would also be fine. You'd have a picture that had a strange average f-stop, but that might be quite cool.

Generally, compared to film cameras, it's hard to hurt digital cameras through their interfaces. Some film cameras are unhappy if their shutters are kept cocked, or their shutter speeds are changed at the wrong times, etc. Digital cameras are safe from all that. They are less safe from things like water, however! 😛
