Don't call me Ron
Well, in 50+ years of taking pictures - I have learned to never trust an expert - only your own experience. Advice can be good - but nothing beats figuring out for yourself anyway.
With ony 13 years under my belt, I have found the same Tom. But what's so annoying about the internet, i that for every good piece of advice, you'll find the exact opposite. Try figuring out who's right!
I have hard people say for example that:
In a few years, all cameras will be using the APS system.
RAW is useless, shoot .jpg's instead.
Tri-X is an old-fashioned, mediocre film.
Fomapan 100 doesn't work with HC-110.
Diafine never dies.
Don't use a tripod, use a fast lens and (much later) image stabilisation.
You can't use outdated film for anything other than cross processing.
6Mp is not enough to print 75cm x 50cm posters from.
Wide angles always distort your image.
Film cameras are useless.
Digital cameras are useless.
You cannot manually focus accurately with a Sony NEX.
All WRONG!!!
