Not to jump on the outrage mill but after Kodak's ups and downs, I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Fuji jumps back into the BW game again in a few years, but I'm also not holding my breath at all. Like everyone else, it's always been my all-time favorite but regretfully didn't shoot it much as more commonly available Kodak stocks (until recently, Bartell's and a few Walgreens stocked Tmax). I'm trying out Silvermax which appears to have a similar look.
I just souped 8 rolls from a particularly memorable road trip, and while mourning the loss, was glad the last of mine ended on a high note.
I tried and failed to fight temptation the other day after stopping in my local shop. "We've still got a case of 120 in the back of the fridge," the salesperson, a personal friend, whispered to me. "We're saving it for people we know will actually shoot it."
And behold, 5-packs were tucked in behind the Delta boxes. I grabbed three, all I could justify to afford on this shopping trip.
Meanwhile, a gentleman was roaming the sales floor telling various customers and staff that he was on the hunt for Acros to resell, and would be worth gold on eBay in a short while. I tried to hide my bounty under a pack of neg sheets, but he saw me checking out and absolutely DEMANDED to know where I found them.
"Last ones I could find, I dug around a bit and I guess I was lucky," I lied. He looked like he believed me and left empty handed. I hope he's not on RFF... I'm told he's a frequent but particularly quite literally demanding customer.
It's going in the freezer, alongside my last few packs of FP-100B, until I can find a subject worthy of this very special film.
