Actual pictures from the Zeiss C-Biogon 21mm f4.5

I think the Zeiss 21/4.5 would blow the Kobalux 21/2.8 into the weeds 😀

I know the Kobalux has a good reputation here at RFF, but its only considered so-so in Japan, mainly because of considerable sample variation. They were made in a small factory in Yokohama after all.

My kobalux is actually is great lens but I am intrigued by the C-Biogon.

Here are some shots with the Kobalux on the M8:

Great! Looks like you have a good sample of this lens, and certainly capable of making quality images in the right hands (which it is).

Makes me wonder why you're contemplating the Biogon 21/4.5?

If you haven't already, also check out the M-mount group.

Yes, I checked the M-mount group already. I am interested in the C-Biogon because it is somehow a legendary lens and it gets fabulous reviews whereas the Kobalux is considered an average lens at best.

I am not decided yet so that's why I want to see more shots taken with the C-Biogon.

As Jon say's I bought his lens. Tom A. recommended the lens to me and I'm not disappointed, just bloody fantastic!

Here's the Flickr group... ZM Biogon-C 21mm

I'll see if I can dig out a few off mine to post.

Jon,

If you ever want another copy off this lens I can do you a deal on the viewfinder 🙂

I think your Kobalux is very good. I used to have a couple and both were very nice. If anything, I'd go for a ZM 21/2.8 to keep the speed and have sharper lens. Thats what I did. Otherwise - why bother?

Thanks, Neare... Over eastern Oregon on a Seattle-to-Los Angeles flight, startled by what seemed to me a "near miss", though the other plane was probably a couple thousand feet higher.
