Adams 400 Photographs - blank pages?

I just purchased the Ansel Adams 400 Photographs book (which I love BTW) but noticed several of the left hand pages are blank. It does not say "left intentionally blank" and there aren't even any pages numbers on those blank pages.

I can't tell if the page is supposed to be blank or if I have a bad copy (I purchased mine from Costco). Examples of completely blank pages are 24, 38, 74, 94, 122, 174, 286, 298, 356.

Can someone please confirm if these pages are supposed to be blank?

If there were 392 photographs in the book, then I think perhaps there will be images on those pages. But if there were 400 in the book, then I think you are safe.

BTW, I want that book for xmas!!

Freaking thing is heavy too for such a small book.

I love the beginning of the book that has photos of Yosemete taken by very young Ansel Adams. Just goes to show, go back and retake and retake and retake photos.

my guess - each page is at the end of a binding signature. And it was easier at the press that way. (each would probably be a multiple of 8)

This explains why the IRS actually prints on their blank pages "This page is blank".

I think counting is the only option. Or contacting the publisher. Somebody is going to have to be the nonlazy one.

I can confirm (why, I'm not sure!), that my copy is the same.

I wrote 'this page intentionally left blank' on some blank pages in my PhD thesis. This is done as standard on printed copies of legislation and other important documents. One of my examiners roasted me for it. Just goes to show, you're damed if you do . . .

Thanks for the confirmation. It is really weird and there seems to be no pattern to it.
