After using a M to LTM adapter, on top of a Fuji XF to M (Metabones) adapter, they would not separate. I almost never "over-tighten" threaded lens to an adapter, but could not easily detach it. The Metabones release lever seemed to have very little movement, which might have not permitted it to "unlock". I took it to Lowe's Hardware and they were able to unlock it, using some tools to hold it in place. Clearly this is not an adequate solution, if I have trouble again.
So my questions are -
Is this a common problem ? Is it more likely with specific brands ? Has anyone come up with any "tricks" to prevent it ?
I asked Lowe's about using WD40between adapters, but they said this would attract dust . I'm also hesitant to use any liquid/spray that might leak into the camera body. Another suggestion was to use a graphite dust spray as a lubricant. Again, sounds a bit unsafe.
Anyone know more about this problem ? It has happened in the past with other LTM to M adapters, but they have always separated, sometimes after some effort...

I bought a Metabones M to FourThirds mount adapter. While it seems nicely finished and precise, the mount locking pin has issues properly seating with two of my M lenses. None of my M bodies (four) have any problems seating and locking the mount with those lenses.

I suspect that their machining tolerances are just a hair on the variable side, reflecting their price. I've not had these issues with either Rayqual or Novoflex adapters.
