Adjusted Light meter battery/ Canonet

I have a beautiful Canonet that has had a CLA and meter adjust for a modern available battery. I have not used it it sometime and can't remember what the battery would be. Thanks for your help!

which Canonet? What battery was it adjusted for? I use S76 1.5v silver oxide, with a small o-ring so it fits properly, for the QL17.

It would be a 1.55v Silver Oxide battery. Make sure to use silver oxide; there's an alkaline equivalent that is the same size, but it won't work right. As splitimageview said, it probably uses an S76 or equivalent (different battery companies used different names for the same battery). Ones that would work would be:

S76, SR44, SR44W, 357, and AG13. Like I mentioned before, don't use the same sized Alkaline battery (A76). Alkalines start out at 1.5v, but the voltage drops as it is used, which throws off the meter accuracy. A silver oxide will put out 1.55v until just before it dies.

You can use a dummy similar to the MR 9 used for drop voltage with a 1.55v battery. I had my Canon G III QL left with 1.35v calibration and use MR9 adapter and 301/388 silver oxide battery.

Dummy adapters very cheap on eBay for yours since it calibrated for the higher voltage.

It is often recommended to use a thinner 386 silver oxide battery with MR-9 adapters. This might work better for the thin, slide-in battery compartment of the Canonet. If the camera meter has been adjusted for 1.55v, you can get adapters that look like MR-9 adapters but have no voltage step-down circuitry in them. These adapters usually have a hole in the middle, because they were designed to be used with 1.35v or 1.4v zinc-air batteries for hearing aids. They fit the silver oxide batteries perfectly.
