Adorama only selling pro packs of pro films...

I just liked the option of picking up a roll for a day... I don't want to keep 4 other rolls around until whenever I needed them

I see that B&H list single rolls so I would think they'd sell in store single rolls. Perhaps go there if you can.

Yeah, I'll go there if I need singles, or K and M - but Adorama was nearby to a bunch of places I frequent- also easier to walk and pay and get out of the store

Saw that when I went to order some film and chemicals online. Very disappointing as I often like to buy 2-3 rolls of Acros and Portra at a time as I shoot 100 speed and color film more slowly than 400 speed.

Oh well, I'll just space out my buying now or order from B&H.

I've found that their singles are the same price as each roll in the pro pack.
They did not mark up. Nor does B&H.
e.g. one roll of Portra 400 120 is $5.99. Pro Pack (5 rolls) is $29.95

At B&H a pack of 20 rolls of film costs exactly the same per roll compared to buying just a single roll. I never understood this.

I've always been curious about this, too. 1 roll of provia is the same as 5 rolls is the same as 60. Why offer it in 60 packs if there is no discount?

Because the photographer can maintain colour consistency over a large number of film rolls by buying many from the same batch.

I checked with the purchasing department for the reason, and was advised that it is because there is no expiry date on the individual rolls.

That sure makes good sense. I find in practical use I'm better off buying 5 or 10 rolls at a time than 1,3,7, etc.
