I recently went to the Adorama web site to order my usual supply of 5x7 paper. I always got the house brand (250 sheets, RC, pearl) and lo and behold, it is no longer offered. I noticed only a few offerings of the house brand in fiber but no RC in 250-sheet lots. I had to pay $20 more for the Ilford. I hope this in not a harbinger of things to come. My worst fear is suppliers for us darkroom enthusiasts will gradually disappear and we will be forced into withdrawal. I already do some minimal darkroom work on the computer but it is no subsitute for the real thing. I can't bear the thought of going completely digital. You don't get the smells.

Was the own-brand paper very much like Ilford? If so, Ilford have now stopped selling their materials for rebranding. So no more ADOX CHM film (FP4/HP5) and no more Arista branded Delta. This may be what has happened to your paper. Over here the best deal in paper was always Jessop's own brand which was Agfa MCP at about 60% of the price. This is all gone now. Ilford, Forte and foma papers are all good and they're all still in business.

That would certainly explain it. The Adorama paper was identical in all respects to Ilford.
