ADOX CMS 20 ... wow! no what.

next roll. same process (actually, I processed both rolls at once), but better results. I think I shot most of these with a 35/3.5 summaron, so maybe that helps. for some reason, the dust and the scratches aren't so bad this time.

no post-processing at all on this one. scanned at 3200 dpi.

the detail from this film -- the reflect dots on the sign, for example -- just blows me away. guess it'll take some practice to master how to expose and process this stuff. and, I may need to rent space in a surgical operating suite to do something about dust control. I actually think that some of the schmutz (yiddish for smearing, residue, smut, bespattered, etc.) came right from my cotton darkroom gloves (moral of the story: don't buy the cheapest ones that Freestyle sells; splurge and get the better ones).

no 120 in the CMS as far as I know. however, Adox does make CHS 25, which is an old technology fine-grained, slow-speed emulsion. Freestyle sells it:

I have the 35mm roll adapter for my Mamiya 7... Going to have to get some of this stuff in 35mm then.

The resolution of this film is astounding. If one is interested in taking advantage of the great resolving power of lenses like the 50 Lux ASPH, the 35f2.8 Summaron, the 25 Biogon ZM, etc., CMS20 is the film to have!

Here is a test shot from my first roll. Here I used the latest 90f2.8 Elmarit-M. I was about 800 metres away. Aperture was a f5.6 and shutter speed was 1/125th hand-held. This is straight from the Nikon Coolscan V scanner at 4000dpi - I only set black and white points in Photoshop. There was no other tweaking or sharpening done.
