The GR1v's viewfinder must be a whole 1/8th inch larger that the Retina's viewfinder.

Where will we be with viewfinder technology in another 60, or so years I wonder?

Is there a viewfinder out there that really shows the subject?

I guess in those two cases, the Ricoh one looks better, but I there have probably been more regressions in that area than advances. The fact that most DSLRs are not full frame means the finders are smaller than what came before in 35mm.

Most digital cameras don't even have finders any more, we're supposed to look at a shiny screen in broad daylight and act like it's an improvement. Bah.

No, it doesn't.......but if it did you wouldn't be able to see them any better than you can see them on the GR1v.
