advice on filters for a 15mm heliar?

What i really want to do is use infrared film in my Bessa L, with the 15mm heliar. And i wat to use a filter to block the blues&UVs. Has anyone done this? what did you do? how did it turn out? is there an adapter for using a filter? Can one attach a filter on the rear of the heliar? Did you just put celophane over the shutter frame?

Any advice or comments are welcome.

You can use the 12mm filter adaptor. I ordered one from Cam Quest. Inside there is a narrow spring with a locating tag on one end, take note how it fits!. Carefully lift this out. Slip a length of electricians shrink cable covering over it, (choose a size which is a tight fit ) leave about 1/4 inch uncovered at both ends. Apply gentle heat with a cigarette lighter to shrink tightly in place, Replace spring locating the tag in its slot. It now should fit the 15mm without having to resort to sticky tape. I now use mine with a IR filter.

Good tip 🙂 Now here is my question: Does that filter adaptor help to reduce a bit of lens flare at all?

Hi Chug, my own 15 is not prone to flare at all without a filter, and using this arrangement so far has not introduced any. I did however have problems when previously I used Cokin filters held in place with tape!
