For all of those saying Fuji, how many have had their hands on the Q?
Advice please: Leica Q or X100T?

The X100T does give one the option of using an OVF.
It also can be operated remotely using a smart phone app.
The teleconverters add cost, bulk, weight and block part of the OVF view. However they do not degrade optical performance.

I played with the Q and still have my name on the pre-order but it will be cancelled.
Sure AF is quick, more decisive than the X100T and has a full frame sensor but for me it's just the 28mm focal length and size of the camera (big lens, not comfortable to hold) that put me off the Q.

Have the Q for B&W and the "other one" for color. Problem solved.

I agree taemo, I'm cancelling my order as well... but it is still a really nice camera. I just was wondering if those giving advice had even used both of the cameras. I have, you have... that's good.

Having actually used both (and the X100 and X100S iterations before this), my opinion is that the X100T and Q have comparable AF in ideal conditions, e.g. good light and contrast. However, in poor conditions - which includes, say, shooting family photos indoors under ambient light - the Q crushes the X100T.
The overall responsiveness and AF speed from acquire focus to firing shutter is very noticeably better on the Q. The best way I can describe it is that the AF speed is good enough that it ceases to be a serious factor, unlike the X100T.
That being said, the X100T has plenty of other things going for it:
* More reliable auto-WB/in-camera color and auto-exposure
* More configurable (Fn buttons, Q menu). To be fair here's not a lot to configure on the Q but I dislike needlessly limited menu options. The Fn buttons on the Q have only a tiny subset of features that can be assigned.
* Hybrid VF - major plus if you like OVFs, and/or the rangefinder approach of being able to see outside the framelines.
* Price point - no question which one is better for your wallet!
* Smaller size - the Q is a noticeably larger camera in every dimension.
* Conversion lenses available for you to shoot 28/35/50 equivalent without cropping and still at f/2.
* SP-1 printer compatibility, as mentioned above. I found this to be incredibly fun and popular everywhere I've broken it out, and it lives in the front pocket of my camera bag. The easy integration between X100T and printer combined with in-camera RAW conversions makes it particularly functional.
My opinion (worth exactly what you paid for it 😀 ) is that you should choose what you can afford that inspires and excites you to make images, and is most enjoyable for you to shoot. Most of us enjoy the process of making images as much as the end results. For that, good tools are worth something that can ultimately only be quantified by the person laying down their money.

out of curiosity but how come you're also cancelling your order?
if Leica releases a 2nd Q with 35mm lens that is as big as a M6 w/ 35mm Summicron I would be all over it, no question asked.

The X100 series is the most overrated camera i have ever used. I have owned the original and the S-version. They are sloooooow. The IQ is great but to shoot fast moving people on the street (or kids i imagine) is not that easy. Sure you can use pre-focus and hyperfocal distance. But if you want speed in autofocus the Fuji is not the one.

I'm not huge on using 28mm right now. I like the camera, but at $4250, I need to really love it. If they make a 50mm version, I'll be all over it. And yeah, the lens size bugs me a bit... but you can't expect an AF lens to be the size of a MF lens I guess.

I think that's a smart move. The camera looks amazing from every standpoint but focal length.
If you are not really feeling 28mm it's wise to wait.
Bet your $4250 that Leica will be coming with a 35, 40, or 50mm version in the next year.
It only makes sense that they extend this platform to other focal lengths.

I like 28mm sometimes, but recently I haven't been bothering with it. I may still get the 28mm Q, but by the time I may want it, then hopefully it'll be cheaper on the used market.

I have the Leica Q, sold my X100s (and a lot of other stuff) to get it. No regrets, the Q is a far better camera.

OK, so now I'm questioning my decision again!
Nobody near me has the T in stock, or the Q for that matter. So I'm going to wait, keep using the original X100 and see how it goes. To be honest, I don't use AF so I'm not that fussed about that. I'd like it for when I'm feeling lazy 🙂

The Q's MF function is very good... blows the X100 away.

You've checked one out. One thing you can answer ... is the MF actually mechanical rather than by wire?
It looks like the little lock/un-luck button on the focus tab is a mechanical linkage but I'm not clear on that.
I've been trying to ignore the online reviews out of fear of my weakness for gear 😛
