Advice please: Leica Q or X100T?

Fast is subjective. Sounds silly, but I believe it. Depends on how you shoot. The original X100 I could shoot fast, for my needs and style. The X100T is the same speed for that style, but for the new style I'm trying it blitzes the original.

Can't wait to get and compare a Leica M, and learn new method to suit it 🙂

What are you doing to make the X-Pro1 AF fast (I must have the wrong hands)?

o most recent firmware; it really was a game changer
o fresh batteries
o use lenses with newer AF technologies and, or lower glass mass
o use appropriate AF menu settings, particularly AF region size; be willing to change the size as circumstances change
o rely mostly upon focus and recompose using the AFL/AFE button; i.e. use the AF manually
o use the EVF more as conditions deteriorate (low light, low contrast)
o accept the disadvantages (and advantages) of phase-detection and contrast detection AF; don't expect miracles with low-contrast focus regions
o practice

I don't find the X-Pro 1 focusing to be more problematic in terms of focus speed and errors or failure than the Zeiss Ikon ZM or any MF focus Nikon SLR I've used. These have similar disadvantages to the X-Pro 1 – focus and recompose along with increased difficulty in low light.

Practically all DSLRs are faster the the X-Pro 1.

The X-T1 is much faster.

Most current DSLRs outperform the X-T1... especially for action photography. If someone paid me to shoot action photography I would rent a Nikon D4 kit.

Since June 1015, the X-T1 with the newest firmware is approaches the D300/700 action AF performance; provided one uses the optimum menu settings and practices. The main disadvantage of the X-T1 is understanding how to get the most out of the PD AF system and dealing with the limitation of the subject being in ~ the center 20% of the frame to achieve the highest level of performance. Also, I've not used the X-T1 for action photography near it's PD, AF detection limit (0.5 EV). It would not surprise me if the D300/700 AF is much better at 0.5 EV.
