Advise me on a flash for a Nikon FE

SB-26. If not that, an SB-25. The 25 is the same as the 26 but without a slave sensor built in. Those are both the best flashes Nikon ever made. I started using them on F4 and F5 bodies back in the Navy and was amazed at their ability. I bought a pair of my own years ago and I still use them even on my D2x. They are very powerful, fully controllable and the UI is incredibly easy to navigate and set even in a hurry.
