I completely agree with you Timmyjoe. Even though I have no problem with Fedex, to not offer UPS at customer cost is not acceptable. I guarantee they receive deliveries from UPS so sending things out that way is not asking for the moon. The elimination of single roll sales of 120 film is a decision in the same vein; I've seen companies start down this road of economic "streamlining" at the expense of their customers. Whether or not this makes a difference to their long-term health only time will tell
Completely agree, and I've been like a broken record on the subject. My guess is that Fedex made B&H this "offer you can't refuse" on condition that Fedex Ground became the company's exclusive ground shipper.
My latest data point: Some substitute Fedex Ground driver who doesn't know that my rather long driveway ends in a circular drive with plenty of turnaround space, elects to simply toss the package in the weeds at the road end of my drive. The only way I knew to go looking was that I got an online "delivered" notification. I had the same UPS driver for a couple of decades until his retirement, and since then, I've consistently had his replacement. Never a problem like this one...
