After a summer with the Ep-2

Whilst I'm seriously considering selling my Ep-2 when this new fuji x100 comes out (which is probably my dream digital camera) I have really enjoyed my time with the Pen.

I've ben using the Panasonic 40mm 1.7 and its been a great little combo, small, easy to use and there is something about the JPEG's I get out of the camera which really appeals.

Anyway I put some of the photographs from the camera up on my website, nothing serious - just snaps of my friends of the summer, but I think they show what the camera does best - bright, vibrant photographs that capture moments I probably would have missed having given into temptation and left a chunkier DSLR at home.

N.B. The shots do have some post processing. I shoot film 90% of the time and so always have to do a little tweaking to digital shots.

Yes, this sweet little cam is a powerful companion.....

Five days in Sicily I had to shoot in colour, not b&w as I normally do for streetlife.

The EVF did a great job in this harsh southern light. Shooting exclusively in RAW developing in LR3 (I like it even don't understand their file system...:bang: )

The X100 looks good, it's possible that in March I become nervous...🙄

Nice work.
That fake "light-leak"-effect is cool. Most of digital-pictures are too contrasty, not these. These actually DO look like film, a lot.

I'm not sure I understand why you'd consider trading in the E-P2 for the Fuji x100 unless you'll be satisfied with a fixed lens camera. I have no doubt that the Fugi product will be absolutely first class in performance and optics, out performing everything else with a similar effective focal length, but untill they come up with a camera that takes interchangeable lenses or at least has a nice zoom, I'd keep the Pen. Ergonomically ithe E-P2 can be annoying but it's advantages outweigh the disadvantages by a wide margin.

I owned an E-P2 and traded it for another camera. I missed it and got the
E-PL1 and have been a happy camper ever since. Like many, I enjoy the quality and color of the jpegs. The Fuji looks like it will be a cool camera, but the little Pen does everything I need a camera to do, and I'm learning new tricks every day..... The photos in my Lake Superior and Landscape sets on Flickr are mostly E-P2 & E-PL1 products.....

Nice photos. I really like the color and post processing film like effects you are getting.

Just processed some Kodak 160 NC that I shot through my Holga and it has a similar look which I really like.

I'd hang on to that Pen for color even if you get the Fuji down the line.

Have to say though as a web developer, not a big fan of the horizontal scroll on your website. You should steal one of the jquery/Ajax vertical scroll scripts from somewhere that keeps adding content to the bottom of the page. Much more user friendly.

Not to mention the loss of IBIS, which I consider to be a massive bonus. A 40mm-e f:1.7-lens WITH stabilization? You can keep your APS-C sensor and low-res VF...

I can understand why you want to get rid of the Pen. I mean really, who wants a camera that lets you make face to face portraits that look totally unobtrusive?
Geeze, you better get rid of that camera quick before you get more good images out of it....
