Another very nice find from my dad's collection.
It seems to have hardly been used, almost like new.

Agfa Ambi-Silette 35mm rangefinder

sn on access. shoe PZ 5375 no other sn noted anywhere on body
lens Agfa Color-Solinar 1:2,8/50 sn 120xxx
shutter Synchro-Compur

Has interesting viewfinder hatch cover and sliding view frames for 35/50/90mm lenses

Has dealer plate on camera back, reads:
Photos des Nations
Robert Fehmann
Geneve


Original Agfa colored Film sticker inside of back

Original hard leather case with chrome trim ring and edging

I found a manual here: www.urmonas.net/manuals/ambisil/ambisil.html. The ambi silette was planned to be a less expensive alternative to Leica and had 4 lenses: the one you have, a wide angle "Color-ambion" (35mm f4), a tele "Color Telinear" (90mm/f4) and another Tele "Color Telinear" (135mm/4) with separate finder. The quality of the lenses and the shutter is very good and that of the range-finder excellent. AGFA did not build a lot of them may be because many other german producers started efforts with 35mm-cameras with interchangeable lenses in that period (Kodak [I know it's not german ;-)], Balda, AkA, Braun and others).

The non-solinar-lenses are difficult to find.
