Ai silliness is taking over the internet

Itā€˜s also being used nefariously. I just asked someone selling a Rolleiflex on our German classifieds for a photo with the camera and a current date (to make sure they actually have the camera) and lo and behold, I got this image as a reply. First, having an English date in a German classifieds ad is weird. Second, if you zoom in you can tell the letters around the taking lens are gibberish where itā€˜s supposed to say ā€œcompurā€. Also the speed dial has nonsense on it. Luckily, all it cost me was a bit of my time.

But AI will not make these types of mistakes much longer.

Keep in mind the "AI" sharpening algorithms now in use by phone cameras have a tendency to destroy any out of focus text by turning it into nonsensical patterns or symbols. Such things are only "AI" though because the marketing department decided they should be.
