Just got that nice lil' piece. I cannot adjust the exposure / shutter ratio, both rings move together. Am I missing something or is my camera broken ?

Based on my experience with other cameras where the speed and aperture were linked, try pulling out on the ring.

Peter, thanks for your answer. I tried pulling the ring but it wont budge.
If the apperture and speed are fixed to one another, then there would only be one possible EV adjustment, apart from the ASA / DIN which is set for the film.
Something is not right. This is costing just peanuts but my curiosity is now triggered !
Any idea is welcome.

Is there a catch to depress or slide to uncouple the rings when adjusting the shutter/iris combination?

Perhaps pushing-in on the ring will allow adjustment ?

From what I understand this camera uses automatic exposure, hence the name, so you wouldn't need to adjust aperture and speed separately.

The DOF display looks neat, do the red indicators move when you change aperture?

The DOF red bits look similar to a later Retinette with meter, they will move. On that camera one pushes one of the rings in towards the camera to unlock aperture from shutter speed.

If this camera is automatic (ie the lightemeter is coupled (unlike the Retinette I am staring at) then something somewhere will need to be moved from A to M....probably...

Yes the red arrows do move with rotating the aperture / speed ring.
I tried to push / pull but nothing moves no seperates.
I was captured by the fluorescent green 😀
It is supposedly coupled to the lightmeter on the top cover.
I have no clue on how that thing works.

Some of these cameras had an electronically controlled shutter, where the only exposure control you could adjust was the lens aperture, the camera selected the appropriate shutter speed...

The RolleiMagic TLR is one such camera...

When I rotate the ring the speed changes as well; this is visible and audible.
Strange, what else can I say 🙄

Hi, I've got such a machine although it is in unusable condition. I think it works like this: for flash you choose an aperture (you see the corresponding DOF arrows move) the front ring will show a red line with flash bulb sign. If you move the rings (actually it is 1 ring) to the "yellow"position (sun symbol) you see the DOF arrows move again: you can choose your DOF; you don't see an aperture number and the camera will choose a shutterspeed automatically. If you align the meterneedle with the index, exposure shoukd be good ( that is when it works; mine doesn't). There is one ring "in between". You can move that after pressing the button on the left, to set the filmspeed. Hope this helps.
