I was really excited about getting a skin from Aki Asahi to give my GF1 a better grip but they look to be closed for a while now. Does anyone know where i could get a similar skin that actually has grip on it?

Weird. The top page (Japanese site) doesn't say anything about the move. The last update there is on Oct 27 saying they resumed taking orders.
Maybe they are working on an overhaul of the international online ordering system or something??

I've been wanting to get their vulcanit covering for the Panasonic LX-3 since April. It was listed on the Japanese site but not on the English-language store. I emailed them a few times and I never received a response. I found this very strange as I've dealt from them before and service was always top notch. Soon after, the English-language store went down. It came back online for a few weeks in September but now its down again.

I went back to the site and read older posts on the Japanese site. I can't be sure, but I think I see what's going on.
They WERE moving to new office a couple weeks back. According to the posts after that date, they got crazy busy because of the back orders caused by the temporal hult of operation during the move.
Their latest post is on 10/27 (jp time) saying they just started taking orders again. I think they just want to take care of domestic orders before reopen the international store. I think the English site will come back up soon.
Again, I'm just speculating so email them if you want to be sure.

I think they are extremely busy. With the huge success of m43, it has opened a whole new market of camera accessorizing here in japan - Aki Asahi is mentioned in many current JP magazines, and I think they are working very hard to keep up with local demand.
