Alaska

Anchorage certainly doesn't reflect the natural beauty of the state. My visit was in May, 2006. Late enough to get some good weather, early enough to avoid most of the tourists and the Mosquitos. The kenai peninsula, Homer and a day cruise out of Seward with bays and volcanoes, eagles and glaciers. Really sites to behold.

But as far as why you'd want to live in Alaska, well, you like to be an American but not live in America...

I can understand that for sure. I'm sure the state has plenty to offer in terms of natural beauty--in fact I saw a lot of it out of the window of my airplane.

It was the rest that was...underwhelming, and a bit depressing.
