I just bought a canon QL17 off ebay, its in great condition, there is a slight grinding noise when i adjust the shutterspeed ring, but nothing too bad, i also ordered some new seals. One thing thats wrong with it though is that the focusing is slightly off vertically, its not a lot. So im wondering if the pictures will still be sharp if i leave it or should/can i do something about it? Im prety sure the focusing is correct horizontally (ie. it seems to line up at infinity)

I don't think the vertical alignment affects the focus, it should be ok. But it's supposed to be a fairly easy thing to adjust. There's some instructions here among other places: http://rick_oleson.tripod.com/index-30.html

I haven't gathered the courage to remove the top of my Canonet yet, even though the viewfinder on mine could use some cleaning. The thought has crossed my mind to get a second one, just for practicing repairs.

Thanks, just tried it out and i think i got the focus right. The instructions could have been better on how to get the shutter-release-button thing out.

Now to load some film into it 😀
