I just wanted to share some of my deep thoughts about aligning my Omega D2 enlarger. It's possible that I just invented a bicycle. I had trouble with the negative carrier flatness because the lamphouse was not sitting flat on the negative stage. This problem in turn produced alignment issues. I finally solved the mystery - the tilt of the lamphouse is adjusted by rotation of nut "b" (see the attached pictures) there is a small hexagonal screw that fixes it, and has to loosened first (part "a").

Another deep thought - I replaced the 8-32 screws that hold the negative stage with thumbscrews - now I do not have to worry about messing up the threads in the negative stage and it can be aligned much easier without a screwdriver. The source of the thumbscrews - mcmaster.com
