... is a digital version of the Hexar AF. Large sensor; fast 35mm-equivalent fixed lens; impeccable (well, nearly), fast, quiet AF. I'd pay a lot of money for one, no problem. $1500, sure. I don't care that it's limited, and that I could get "far more" camera with a dSLR: I hate SLRs.

Every time one of these new hero compacts comes out, I think it'll get me by, and I start thinking about a purchase. LX3: silly menus and no proper VF. DP1: Slow AF, slow lens, no proper VF. G10: crap image quality at reasonable ISO.

Someone please just make something I can work with. Despite having the world's supply of Rodinal cornered, I have trouble finding the time to develop and scan right now (and I certainly can't leave that to the idiots at my local lab).

Dammit. Surely there are more of us! Is there any hope?

The DP2 would have to improve a lot before it works for me, as Hexar devotee. I have some hope that either a Panasonic G1 (once they release a lens worth having on it, of course) or the Olympus MFT camera (perhaps the add-on VF will be a good one) will do the trick.

I have a wedding to shoot in August and I'd like to be able to shoot digi and film, with similar cameras. I can borrow a D300 for the day but the idea is not at all attractive.

Ditto. And a large sensor, please. APS-C or larger.

Like you, I want a LC2 with an M mount. They said the camera looked unlike a DSLR. Well hey, it looks like a RF, so what's wrong with that? :bang:

Well, perhaps I'll give one a try. I do need to go bigger, though: folks seem to like to buy my prints at 20x30; and then there's the stock thing.

I wish they made a modern version. Bad competition for the M8, I imagine.

I've made 13x19 prints from jpeg with mine - plenty of detail. I guess if you need to go bigger...

Myself I would rather see GRDT myself. The add-ons are WAY to big and bring in special issues all to themselves. Put a 50 or a 60 on the GRDII body and I'd be OK, not really happy but OK.

Old thread revival, but soon the Fuji X100 will be here. That's probably all you want.

Yes. The DOF at the 35mm equivalent of 23/2 is unacceptably large to me.

Anyway, I bought an M9 so I don't much care anymore.
