Hello, I'm trying to open and repair Almaz103, former Soviet Union SLR that jammed half year ago. Have you ever opened and repaired Almaz SLR?
If you have experience, could you give me some advise before starting to work?

I can refer LOMO repair manual and opening guide for amateur shown on sovietskoe foto. Also, some Japanese and Russian web site.

Unfortunately I can‘t help but wish you good luck. Those cameras were too sophisticated for the late soviet camera industry and allegedly 9 out of 10 broke after a few months of use.
Maybe Oleg in Slovakia could fix it but according to him, it is the best to buy a mass produced soviet camera that is not too complicated.

On the other hand your Leningrad seems to work flawlessly and was back in the 50/60 a pro grade camera 😀

Thanks for your reply!
I agree that not buying almaz is the best option, but I found the camera very ordinary one when I was using it... I will try my best opening the camera.
And for Leningrad: My Leningrad works perfectly since I bought it from the UK. and another Leningrad(LOMO engraved) that has finished repairing is arriving today:D

Assess the symptoms before you start pulling it apart. Is the shutter cocked? Is the shutter fully closed? Is the mirror up or down? Can you move the advance lever? Can you press the shutter release? All these things will help to identify where the issue is and where to look. Once you pull it apart that information is lost.

I don't know that particular camera, but I have serviced other cameras made by Zavod Arsenal, Lomo, KMZ and Belomo. #1 problem I encounter is old lubricants which have deteriorated, and which need to cleaned and relubricated.
