worst GAS ever. Ever.
I want an Alpa. Does anyone know where to buy one (the TC is the one I want - the one without the movements).
I have looked everywhere, including the Apla site's link to dealers, and not one dealer sells the TC except the body alone and not all the necessary parts. I want the body, back, lens, viewfinder, and a grip.
If anyone knows, I'd love to figure it out. I think one of those would pretty much do it for me. It covers everything I need. Oh man, I fear what i might do to get one (take out a loan, sell my car, get another evil credit card).

Can't help you with finding an Alpa, but I can sympathize. I have the porno, er, product literature from Linhof for the Master Technika. Gads what a glorious camera.

It's best to contact Alpa directly (http://www.alpa.ch). Very nice and friendly people. They can telly you exactly where you can get the system.
The camera is sold in parts, there is no kit offering. Normally you sit together with a dealer and decide what's required. Minimum is the body, a viewfinder (including mask), a lens and a back. Every listed dealer should be able to help you with this.

Hehe, the Alpa GAS attack. I have had it. It was funny, after you looked at the prices and then went to look at the prices for a new Hasselblad, it seemed cheap!
In the end, I realized that I could not really afford it, and settled for a Mamiya 7ii and lots of money to spare for film. I do not feel at all guilty burning film in the M7 knowing how much money I saved on not getting the Alpa. In addition, I now have a rangefinder and use a normal lens almost all the time, the wide angle I also got see little use.
