a canon ltm 50/1.5 really is a wonderful lens, if you find one in good shape, like Steve's. i went through two, only one of which made the cut. i used mine on digi and film, equally pleasing. sold it to afford the zm, it would have been nice to keep both.

i'd like to try a 40 sonnar at some point, if sonnarphilia strikes again.

I will be getting a Nikon ltm 50/2, in the end close focus on mirrorless is too difficult to resist. What other lens outside of Nikon 50 close focus?

And thanks for all your reply and photo by the way.

Another vote for the Canon 50mm f1.5

I got a Canon 50mm f1.5 precisely for the Sonnar like rendering when the Zeiss C-Sonnar was not yet out. Mine came with single coating, no hood and plenty of haze plus fine scratches.

Initial tests were somewhat flare prone and off focus. I sent the lens off to Don Goldberg at DAG and it came back performing beautifully.

Here's one at close range and close to wide open. I find the lens both sharp and smooth.

I'm currently waiting for a Canon 50mm/1.5 that I bought in a whim. It looked like in great shape and it's been cleaned recently. My only trouble is I don't shoot colour and I'm wondering if this lens is worth the money for B&W.
