I voted "1 to 5" but I didn't actually cut any frames/mattes.
I had two prints matted and framed and about another 10 or so matted.
And I have about 4 or 5 that are waiting to be framed and hung in my apartment.

Well, professionals shoot for fun too... In fact, I NEVER do framed pictures commercially (because it's nothing to do with what I do) so anything I frame is done, in effect, as an amateur.

I wanted to focus on framed prints for personal use as a result of your photography. (It might not be the only goal of your photography, obviously.)
There is such a natural muddle in the discussion of photography caused by the jumble of pros, amateurs, streetshooters, general, travel, landscape, and art photographers, etc on the site, each with a different vantages and needs and the differing capabilities of equipment. (The muddle is far from a bad thing, but it is difficult to find best practices and use without knowledge or isolation of a group.)
I wanted to focus on a single, simple result by a easily defined group.

I voted 6-25. I've mainly bought old nice picture frames from antique shops, made prints that fit them and given them to my friends and some for my self also.
I guess it's not at all "archival" as the prints probably touch the glass, but it looks nice anyway and it gives me the chance to see how the prints look under glass under different lighting conditions.

I do have a number of prints in 8x10 and 11x14 ready, so I just have to get off my butt and frame them.

Printed 6 for framing. Had 5 on display in a show. #6 needs a custom frame as it's irregular size. All digital prints from scans.

I'm also working on doing books now and eliminating the darkroom. The tools from blurb and photobook are so easy now to use and produce custom hardcover books.

I signed up for a public darkroom with the best intentions this year. I printed probably 5-10 pics. Framed none. Failure.

That's about as good as framing anyway (except for the environmental damage to the prints) and is much more flexible. I had my foyer prints custom framed so the prints could be 'easily' rotated while keeping the frame, but now I don't see that happening all that often. You can rotate on a whim.

I have a couple small scale (4x6 inch openings) frames that I alternate, but over the past few months I've gotten a few customized frames and mats that are 8x12 and put some up. it wasn't until I was reading another thread on this forum that I decided to get 4 simple Neilson black metal frames with white paper matting (gallery style) that had 6x9 openings, and I must admit they look quite good and where a lot more reasonable than my custom experimentations.
