Amazing 35 UC Hexanon

I have the M Hex 35 and it's a pretty good lens for what you can pick them up for ... I've thought about the UC but the price has been rather high and they aren't easily found.

The M version is sharp, has smooth OOF rendering and is near impossible to make flare ... I've shot mine straight into lights and directly into the sun and it doesn't seem to faze it at all ... BUT ... for me it doesn't have a lot of character so it tends to get ignored while I use my 35mm Nokton for almost all my 35mm shooting in spite of it's size disadvantage and extra weight.

I've said it before. I'll say it again.

The UC-Hexanon is far better on my Canon VI-T than any M mount 35mm mentioned in this thread. 😀

For those of us with both Leica mount cameras, the UC-Hexanon is a far better solution than a pair of 35mm/2.0 lenses.
 
Why is your lens for sale already, hunghang?
BTW I bought mine for 900 USD two years ago from a well known Japanese camera store who still had them on stock. Your price seems a little bit off. Are you trading stuff?
 
I also noticed the price - I too paid roughly 900 usd a few years back from the same ebay seller, also new. Interestingly, I went to Japan a couple of weeks later and they were more expensive second hand, though fairly widely available. It kinda made me wonder what the size of the market is for rf lenses, if so many were available second hand and Matsuiyastore had so many for sale new...

A Summilux ASPH is pretty much the only 35mm lens I'd trade the UC hex for.
 
For some reasons I stick to screwmounts and small sized lenses. The UC Hexanon is just right for me. Maybe there are sharper lenses but neither with this size nor price. When I got the Bessa R3M I thought I will shift to M-mount soon, but still just have one M-lens and camera, and make most pictures with my Bessa R.

I don't think the market for LTM lenses is high. It took several years to sell just 1000, and after all 900 USD was a closing sale.

Of course, for your M8, hunghang, the ASPH Leica lenses fits better. But for a Bessa or old CANON nothing beats a UC-Hexanon. If Canon were still in the RF business they were proud to build it.
