Amazon.com selling M8?

IMHO, build a good relationship with a good local dealer...

It will be priceless.
Yes. No cybercorporation or sprawling megastore can ever substitute the human touch. I get along with my local dealer just fine.

I call him my "camera peddler" ;)

"It just encourages people to buy stuff they're not sure about, use it (in some cases for up to 30 days) and just bring it back, instead of doing the proper research. Then said equipment goes back on the shelf (or in the warehouse) and the next person buys what is essentially a used item."

Correct me if I am wrong, please. If a package is opened and returned, Amazon can't sell it as a new item any longer. The item should be re-sold as used or demo one. Right?

Then they would have lost money on the sale. Unless they overcharge for shipping to make a profit, like many ebay sellers.
Also, how is the next buyer to know whether the item is brand new or returned and resealed in the package?
I honestly don't know if Amazon does this or not, so I'm not assusing them, but I do know for a fact some big box stores like Future Shop do this.
