Wonderful photograph Lynn, really, you should consider making large photo book of these superb shots and add extracts from your diary. It might or might not be a commercial proposition but as a personal record for family and friends it would take pride of place and you would feel very good about it. Tim
Many thanks Tim and Archiver, it's a nice thought.

Hi Lynn - just did one of my very rare blow-ins to RFF and have spent a wonderful half an hour scrolling through this thread, thanks for posting these, great viewing. Just wanted to post to praise this one, which is just sublime and wouldn't look out of place in Uncommon Places. The colour palette, the composition, everything. Just wonderful! Shame you hadn't done this when we did that print swap years ago or this would be sitting on my wall :)

Keep posting!

We were not equipped to camp in snow so it was a relief to stay in a heated budget motel a mile south of the South Rim for the next few nights. I was constantly amazed at the size of American cars. The motel is still there, but much larger.

Thanks Steve, I'm glad you enjoyed them. Here's another to keep you going until I upload some more tomorrow, when I go to Tombstone, AZ via St Davids Lakes campground.

You're about to enter the part of the country I've spent a lot of my life living in: a vertical band from Texas up through Minnesota. I lived, in no particular order, in Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas (elsewhere too, but those are the ones in question). I'm excited to see how you traversed that band.

I am blown away by your skill and organization so young. The Tuscon stop suggests some are getting weary of the adventure. Did one of these guys or girls get inspired by you? I’m half expecting on the next page the next drop in won’t be one of our own but one of these young people, or one of their offspring, chiming in with more of the back story.

Hi Richard, I think they were getting more annoyed with my constant picture-taking as the trip progressed. Something about being the last back to the van at departure time 😁
