could you direct me to places that sell BW film?

Any specialized photo shop in A'dam sells B&W film, but a bit expensive. Maybe you can also get film at the airport.

Avoid Foto-professional at the Nieuwendijk-had some very bad experiences with them!

The biggest secondhand markets are in spring summer and fall in the Netherlands, called ´Fotografica` . NL has a big secondhand virtual market on ´Marktplaats´.
A must see place to visit is Foam : http://www.foam.org/foam-amsterdam
Besides the exhibitions, they have an excellent restaurant with homemade pie's.
