This is quite an amazing moment in the long history of photographic tool development. I suppose this moment may have had its roots in Leica's development of the M8. And now here we are with quite an amazing array of choices that many said was impossible, or at least unwanted, 5 years ago:
The M9... a full frame digital rangefinder!
Fuji X100... an affordable digital Hexar with superb image quality!
Fuji XPro1... an interchangeable lens rangefinder-ish Hexar RF for seriously sub-M9 cost!
Nikon D800... full frame 36MP for $3000!!
And now the Olympus OM-D... gorgeous!.
And of course with all the other amazing digital gear filling the cost/capability gaps. And what's coming next?? What a moment. 🙂
