I bulk load, and I am sad that I am nearing the end of my 100' roll of APX 100, a film that I've come to enjoy and appreciate. I've actually no clue how many more frames I have left on the roll, but I'm getting that feeling. In anticipation, I've ordered a 100' roll of PlusX.

APX 100, is a great film. This is the first time I've shot with it extensively. I never got a chance to soup it in Rodinal—I'm hoping to maybe process these final rolls in it. I shot it mostly in high contrast ligthing and found it did quite well in D23, two-bath D23, and two-bath D76. It was way too contrasty (in these lighting conditions) in 1:1 D76 and FX15. Souped in a compensating developer it showed gorgeous range and scanned great. I will be sad when those final frames spool off, but I'm happy to have met its acquaintance and look forward to a fond reunion. 😀

Why the Plus-X if you like APX 100? I see that B&H is out of stock on the 30m roll, but Adorama, an RFF sponsor, does have it...

I really like PlusX. I got the 100' roll of APX to try it out and get to know it a little better. I had never shot with it. I really didn't like it at first, but I've grown fond of it, once I got a handle on it. I'm not married to it though (only to TriX 😉 ). This was just a little sentimental reflection, and some praise singing, as my APX roll ends. I'm sure I'll use it again.
