Another K1000?

I remember experimenting on a K1000 when I was little, but I haven't been able to locate it in about 10 years. I just came across a collection of K-mounts from the attic and wonder if it would be worth it to pick up another K1000.

These lenses are nowhere near high-dollar, but it would be fun to see what kind of images I can get from them (I still see some old pics from the Pentax in the album)...

So what do you think? Would it be worth it to find another K1000 body, or should I veer into some other direction with the K-mount capabilities?

A collection of k-mount lenses gives you a world of possibilities. Yes, a K1000 could be fun. You could also use just about any of the later Pentax film or digital SLR cameras. If the lenses have an 'A' setting on the aperture ring, you can use them in various AE settings on later cameras as well.

I noticed the other day that first and second-generation Pentax digital camera bodies are going for less than $200 on eBay lately. I have a (circa 2004) *ist DS that I'd like to upgrade, but if I just wanted another *ist model (DL, DL2, etc), I've seen some for $150+. Could be fun for experimentation - they will work fine with your k-mount lenses. Film cameras too.

Bill - good point. I have an istDS and still love it. Robust, 6mp, relatively low noise sensor and lots of accessories and lenses available.
