What a great site! I recently picked up a Konica Auto S2 as my first rangefinder. I have been on this site for the last month reading and trying to get an understanding about rangefinder cameras. There is a lot of information here and I have noted that people really go out of their way to answer questions and give their opinions. My question is I really should have someone look at my rangefinder, clean it up a bit and make sure it works properly. Can anybody make a suggestion on who can CLA this camera? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mark

Welcome Mark. Steve Gandy at www.cameraquest.com does some CLA (with his repair guy). Might want to pop him an email and see what the price is, may even be on his extensive site already. good luck

Welcome to the forum, Mark!
Essex Camera Services in NJ charge $80 for an S2 CLA. They are good...

Its very easy to clean your rangefinder, vacuum out the film chips inside the film chamber
and replace the light seals yourself. Lots of general repair info in the repair section...we
can walk you thru some basic testing. Have you got a proper battery? Is the light meter
working? Do the dials move smoothly? Any corrosion in the battery chamber? Any fungus
on the lens? is the shutter working?

Thanks everyone for the replies. Rob I am still going through the camera. The shutter seems to work fine. The dials are a little stiff and the camera came without the battery so the light meter is not working. I did not open(or know yet where the battery chamber is
) so I don't know if the battery chamber is corroded. I don't see any fungus on the lens. Looks like I need to do some more research on this camera and get a hold of its manual. Anything else I should look for? Thanks
