Will it ever end? Price increase AGAIN for Provia 100f 35mm at B&H. Now selling for $10.99US (approx $12.14 Aussie dollars!).

Is there really any justification for this? Is Fuji squeezing the retailers to lift their prices or is it just the retailers being greedy in this shrinking market?

...sigh.

I can't imagine the yen coming back in line to the dollar helping. Even if I buy a 5-pack here locally for a product that is made in the same country, I think it's about $8 a roll... and that's Amazon, not full retail.

Yes it is maddening to see what looks like an inevitable downward spiral of Fuji E6.

It will be nice if Ferrania can bring out a quality product, and provide a small measure of competition to Fuji.

Side note: From what I've read, in the US wages relative to inflation have been stagnant or negative in most sectors since the 1970s.

Are you kidding me? Looks to me like I'm going to be switching over to agfa precisa. I just did an order for provia a few months ago, and while I don't shoot it often who can justify paying $30+ for 3 rolls of film...

Though it could be worse. My local retailer sells provia at $18.99 A ROLL.

Man, even Maco (where usually cheaper than the US for me) has them for 8.99 euro!! And velvia is crazy expensive now!

The Agfa Precisa film is expensive as well, so I am guessing it's not a US product. I always assumed it was a cheap slide film like Kodak Gold is a cheap color film.

Is there anywhere to get this film affordable in the US or shipped affordably to the US? All the prices I see for it are near or at what Velvia 100F costs.

Just did some looking around... Agfa Precisa can be had for $7 a roll from Amazon via a third party company and there's currently a promo that instantly discounts your shipping costs. Most of the auctions on eBay for the film were from $7.10-$9.00 a roll if you included shipping, some coming from other countries to the US.

Looks like Velvia 100F is around $10 USD a roll from my usual film suppliers. I'm glad I just bought a bunch of it on eBay recently (expired but all works great thus far) at $5-6 a roll. (All costs for 35mm version.)

I mostly just cross process my slide films for the look I get since E6 is a pain to send off for development. I'd hate to think that one of the classic slide films is going to become just too much money to buy and use anymore. 🙁

Greenspan... Gates... Zuckerberg...

It's Provia 100F rebranded, as discussed here (and a lot of places). Outside of Europe, it will probably run you about $7 a roll after shipping... maybe upwards of $8.

Most likely, not. Your best bet would be to find some place in Asia that ships direct via some relatively cheap method. I looked into reselling Provia 400X on Ebay, and after Ebay takes all their fees (which is ample -- like 13%) I couldn't beat any of the HK sellers, which are asking $75 shipped for a 5-pack. W/o the Ebay commission and the Paypal fee (which can be circumvented in some cases w/ a gift payment), and do airmail shipping instead of EMS, that might drop down to $60 for a 5-pack ($12 per roll) which I guess would be enticing to some people, considering it's what... $15 a roll in the US. Crazy.

I'm doing this. There are some local sellers which have some that is almost up to it's expiration date, or just passed, which works fine, and it's substantially cheaper. I don't shoot that much but I'm trying to buy 20-30 rolls per month and stick it in the freezer. Reading between the lines, it's pretty obvious it's going to be Velvia & Provia only quite soon.
