Another "reliable" m6 problem

What kind of force is required to knock the alignment off? I'm mostly interested in vertical alignment since that seems to be much more difficult to adjust (behind the dot, special tool, etc) than the horizontal alignment, at least in an m6.

I have no idea really, but I think it depends on where is the knock.
I would be much more concerned by horizontal alignment problems.
These do affect the focus, and since some of them can concern the RF gain, you can't be totally sure that correcting for infinity is enough.
If I got it right, vertical alignment is about buying a small tool, and turning something under the red dot which is easy to remove.
No big deal...

The M6 is still my favorite M after having many M2, 3, 4, MP x2 pass through in my M using time. If I could still use an M re focus I would still have M6's. Strong, metered and reliable when serviced well and used often.

The M6 is the unsung hero of the M lineup. My2: CLAed in 2007 for the second time since manufacture in 1958, slow speeds hanging up. Since then it has never worked better. My mid 1990s M6 recently had a minor adjustment and service after the frame counter got stuck. I don't bemoan a service if it is necessary. The price you were quoted is very reasonable.

yeah i thought so too about the price , i am going back tommorow. I just did not expect this so soon , it's a very late 1998 m6
