After reading the thread of an Ilford replacement for X-tol. I was wondering if anyone knew of ANY other developer that is basically the same formula as XTOL? I'm thinking of Formulary or maybe some other brand of developer? I'd love to try XTOL, but there's no way I'm mixing up 5 liters of the stuff.

Look in the Freestyle catalog or on their website. They have several clones that they say are "same as Xtol"

@ 100ml/35mm roll.. that is 50 rolls of film in the next 8 months.. You can do it. Five liters isn't so tough to use.

Yeah, but the only problem that I'd have is:

1) I'd have to shoot that much film ( definitely a possibility, although my film usage slows down in the Chicago winter )

and

2) I'd have to forgo the use of my favorite developers: Rodinal and ( current darling ) Pyrocat HD.
